- Our logo encapsulates the vision and mission of Kariton Center which is aimed at the rehabilitation and empowerment of street families by helping them to organize into a self-help group, and enable them through education and livelihood projects to address more creatively and responsibly their situation. We believe that all people are created to have life to the full. The present worldwide economic system of free market and globalization is only increasing the gap between rich and poor and depriving people from their own resources and richness. At the same time this system is destroying our environment and so our planet. We are therefore committed to a ‘globalization from below’ that will make people aware of this and will assist them to rise up from poverty and fight for an alternative and just society where people and nature will be respected. We want to do this enlightened by the values of the Gospel and the Social Documents of our Catholic Church Tradition.
